SCAMMERS' PSYCHOLOGY PART ONE

 

The Genesis

In the beginning there is always a desperate target that needs to get quick money without sweat. These people are highly intelligent in identifying their mark by doing some acts that can trigger your interest to listen to them depending on their style of trickery they want to use on the target as we are going to see through the different episode of the scammers psychology and this being the genesis watch out for more updates by following my different stories out of experience with these scammers.

Picking Money Bundle On The Street.

This is one of the oldest tricks used in Kampala though it seems to have faded out but still it’s used against newcomers of Kampala especially those from the rural areas.

How it’s done.

This is always a group of then and they identify a point where to carry out the activity and one of them keeps around there while others lure the target to the spot. Scammers walk systematically following the target or even walk together as you converse as away to gather information from you, then the one with a bundle of fake money may come from behind bypassing both of you as if he is minding his own business dressed casually or like a business person it can even be a female, upon reaching where the target can see him clearly he then pulls a handkerchief from his pockets inside which is a bundle of money that he drops as he is using the handkerchief to wipe the sweat, he walks straight forward without looking behind. The target picks up the money depending on your intention for the money it’s on which the second scammer who has been moving with you start manipulating you on how to trigger the greed and you fall for it. Upon picking up the money, He will say “I have seen you! Keep it that’s a lot of money lets go somewhere and share he might come back and see us”.

Before you even leave the place the person that dropped the money comes back crying and asking around who picked his money while mentioning the amount that can make you plan on ways to take it all and that’s when you decide to go with second scammer to the corridor to share the money since you are sure of the huge amount that was mentioned.

Here it happens

Now instead of going with you he will change the plan and say he is rushing somewhere and this is your luck so depending on what is there he will ask you to keep the bundle and pick any amount from your personal money and give him a share for you will take the other bundle when you reach somewhere far. Here you will give him your good money and you remain with the bundle of fake notes or they put two notes on both ends with papers in-between them and your real money is taken so, the deal is done.

 

This type of scammers are common on busy streets, markets, railway areas among other busy spots with corridors where they can take you and forcefully grab the money in case they find out you have much money yet you have failed to fall for their tricks.

If someone is a stranger you must not reveal too much of your financial status as it is a way of identifying the targets and try as much as possible to tame your greed while on the street because you do not know the intentions of that nice and sweet stranger next to you.
